Escambia County, in cooperation with the Florida Department of Transportation, District 3, will hold a public hearing for proposed improvements to State Road 173 (Blue Angel Parkway) in Escambia County, Florida Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Liberty Church, 2221 S. Blue Angel Parkway, Pensacola, FL. An open house will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation at 6:00 p.m.
The public hearing will allow interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. The project involves widening Blue Angel Parkway from two to four lanes from Sorrento Road to just north of US 98/Lillian Bridge Road/Dr. Farin Road, construction of stormwater ponds, drainage improvements, sidewalks, utility relocations, and lane reconfiguration at three signalized intersections. The proposed project includes Access Management modifications at selected locations. The length of the project is approximately 3.6 miles.
A copy of the proposed plans and other information will be available for review Friday, May 21, 2010 through Friday, July 9, 2010 at the office of HDR Engineering, 25 West Cedar Street, Suite 200, Pensacola, FL; and at the Escambia County Southwest Branch Library at 12248 Gulf Beach Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32507.
